Netgear DGN2000 Rangemax Router This router when setup is very stable and provides adequate wireless coverage,Setting up the router was a nightmare, until I used the CD it refused to connect to my adsl connection or change the admin password. When I used the CD it then wanted to be connected to the LAN port and then to the ADSL, which was impossible as I got wireless because I did not want the computers cabled up, so I moved to a nearer pc and set this up.I had serious problems with the push and connect technology and my belkin wireless n card, both are completly incompatible and even though I bypassed this the card and router communicated and snail pace. Checking the config it hadn't even been setup to use its maximum speed. In comparison my old netgear wireless cards worked well although could not take advantage of the n technology.I was surprised to find this unit did not have the ability to be screwed to a wall out of the way and the aerials are permanently attached (Which was annoying as I was planning on buying some higher quality aerials for it).The appearence is nice but the unit gets very hot so I have doubts about its durability. Now I come to think of it, with the annoying setup and incompatible implementation of the wireless n by different manufacturers its very poor to use and setup and poor value considering wireless n has not been finalised.Keep away from Wireless N until it is finalised! |

netgear dgn2000 This is not a very good router, it overheats unless put on its side, it did not come with legs like other netgears which is really annoying.Support is rubbish, if you goto the netgear site and go to yheir support section it is nowhere to be found, I only found it by googling and then it appears to redirect everything to their us site. The wireless range is ok but I was expecting this thing to cover my whole house. |
