HP Compaq 6710b

The HP Compaq 6710b superceded the nc6310 and has a wide range of processor options as well as hard drive options.  The build quality is to HP normal high standard and the keyboard is nice and easy to use.  The battery life is around the 3 to 4 hour mark and the space on screen is impressive.


Good points:
It looks very big and impressive
Its not actually that heavy
The 5200RPM drives perform well
Easy to remove the keyboard (Remove three screws and unclip the top of the keyboard)
Fits the standard HP Docking Station from the previous generation laptops (nc6120 and nc6130)


There are a number of bad points:
The integrated Graphics are not powerful enough and struggle even with spreadsheets.
They have swapped round the connectors from the previous models which is a bit of a headache.
The Touch Screen Buttons below the monitor are useless, after pressing wireless on and off the buttons stop working that well.
No Windows XP/Vista CD
The case around the LED's on the front of the case can break away (Same as other models)
Only 1 years warrenty!!


This is very much built for the office but lack of graphics power and lack of warrenty is annoying.
